This module is intended as training for K-12 LEA staff, particularly leaders, educators, and family and community engagement staff members, to more authentically engage with students. 

  • Introduce adults to the concept of authentic youth adult partnerships
  • Recognize key elements that make youth-adult partnerships effective
  • Explain why these partnerships matter for student success and positive youth development
  • Identify common barriers to YAP and how to overcome them
  • Provide hands-on activities for building stronger relationships with young people and emphasize key ingredients for authentic YAP
