The CEI welcomes in districts and LEAs through a cohort model. Each Cohort makes a two year commitment learn and grow within the initiative, and many stay longer to share their expertise and facilitate the learning of newer cohorts.

CEI Teams

CEI operates on a peer leading and learning model. All of our LEA participants form their own CEI teams that consist of educational partners, including county office of education representatives, district and school-site representatives, parents, students, and community members.

Participation in the CEI is a two-year commitment. Below you will find the list of the school districts, charter schools, and county offices of education who are currently leading and learning from each other, to build California’s list of best practices around community engagement, as well as those who helped build our initiative, but have completed their two-year commitment and are no longer actively participating. Clicking on an active CEI participant will take you to a page where you can learn about their specific CEI work and get in touch with their team if you’re interested. LEAs that are no longer participating will link to their own websites.
