Meet the Modern Learner

The world is changing at an ever-increasing rate, requiring modern workers to continuously learn and grow. The value of continuous learning is becoming more and more clear. To understand more of what experts are seeing in organizations across the country, explore the graphic below. You can click on the various i and ? icons to find out more about what learning looks like for millions of people in today’s modern world of work.

Untethered

Reflection

Now that you’ve explored the conditions modern learners are facing at work. Take a moment to reflect or, if you’re learning with colleagues, have a conversation:

  1. To what extent do the characteristics of modern learning resemble your own experiences adapting to the changes in your work?
  2. What knowledge and skills have you had to develop and/or leverage in order to keep you with the demands of today’s work?
