Six Core Root Causes of Ineffective Engagement

The Root Cause Analysis of Student & Family Engagement was developed by a coalition of 19 community organizations, anchored by Californians for Justice, that work to engage and organize students and families–particularly low-income people of color, immigrants, LGBTQ and foster youth–in support of the successful implementation of LCFF, particularly through the development of LCAPs across the State of California. When LCFF is not inclusive of students and families it will not address the needs of low-performing and underserved students. The CEI has adopted the 6 Core Root Causes of Ineffective Engagement as a guide to countermeasure ineffective engagement.
