Murrieta Valley Unified School District

Making the Shift from Engagement to Partnership

Murrieta Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) educates over 22,000 students from preschool through adult transition with an exceptional, comprehensive academic program. Students participate in highly acclaimed visual and performing arts, championship interscholastic athletics, and nationally recognized student activities programs. MVUSD is one of the highest performing districts in Riverside County with eleven California Distinguished Schools. Our student-centered educational program emphasizes a commitment to the academic success of each student. Highly qualified teachers and staff provide a rigorous educational experience that integrates academics, co-curriculars, and college and career skills to prepare students for future opportunities.

MVUSD is participating in the Community Engagement Initiative because community partnership is a cornerstone of our district’s philosophy. District-level efforts to partner with our community have been a priority and have been steadily expanding. The focus of our CEI journey is looking to shift our mindset from engagement to partnership. We aim to do this by embracing a more proactive approach instead of only engaging families when there is a concern. We want to break down silos and be intentional about bridging the gap between our schools and our families. We seek to form authentic relationships built on authenticity and trust so that our students see their families and school working together for their success.
