Live Oak School District is located in the heart of Santa Cruz, California. Our district is made up of 5 schools including; three Preschool-5th grade, one middle school and one alternative education site. As a district we recognize our struggle to create and sustain welcoming environments with a prioritized lens on equity and cultural responsiveness. This has hindered our ability to increase engagement and relationship building opportunities amongst students, parents/ caregivers, staff and community partners which would allow everyone to feel a sense of belonging. We are proud to have a diverse community represented by families and staff of many different multicultural backgrounds, languages as well as multigenerational homes that offer a richness amongst our community.

We are commitment to partnering with families, staff and our community at large to learn from and grow trust amongst everyone. Our belief is that as we continue to build a strong trusting foundation with our school community we will then see and feel a true embodiment of genuine belonging.
