Val Verde USD's Community Engagement Problem of Practice

EQUITY CONCERN
One of the things that concerns us is perhaps the small percentage of families that do not have internet access and are unable to receive the information that we make available to our families during COVID19. We are also seeking to provide easy and equitable healthcare access to our families by enhancing our current efforts (mobile health units that visit our district) to eventually have a site based clinic.

STRATEGY
Our district has reached out to Google to have 900 hot spots made available to our families, in addition our district has also dedicated a significant amount of funding to purchase 200 additional hot spots for our community.
All of this is while we wait for our long term goal of having our own Wi-Fi network system. As for equitable healthcare access, our team has been in communication with a community partner and are in the beginning stages of working on having a site based clinic.
